A river town’s pests start with water
Mount Vernon is the Posey County seat and a working river port, with the Wabash meeting the Ohio a short way downstream. That geography is why the calls we get from Mount Vernon look different from the ones we get from a newer subdivision. Humidity hangs in the river bottoms, older basements sweat in July, and when the water comes up in spring it soaks the ground around every foundation in the low parts of town.

Do you have an office in Mount Vernon?

My basement is damp. Does that mean I have termites?

I keep finding big reddish roaches in the basement. Where are they coming from?

Can you do anything about mosquitoes this close to the river?
On your property, yes. We cannot treat the Ohio, but mosquitoes rest in shaded vegetation and breed in standing water on your lot, and both of those we can address. A season-long plan keeps the yard usable through the summer. A single treatment works for a weekend, then wears off.
