Turnover season: August and May
A large state university sets Bloomington’s calendar, and pests follow it. In August, thousands of leases start the same week and mattresses, couches and dressers arrive from other cities and from the curb. Those same split houses get mice every fall: four kitchens, a shared basement, old gaps around pipes, and a wooded lot that empties into the house when October turns cold.
