Why Evansville backyards get so bad
Mosquitoes need standing water to breed in and shade to rest in, and Evansville gives them both. We sit in the Ohio River lowland, the air stays heavy from late spring on, and a thunderstorm leaves water in every low spot, gutter and bucket for days. The owner walks your yard
Richard or our operations manager covers the whole property: downspouts, low spots, tarps, planters, birdbaths, the shaded side of the house, the back tree line. Two lists come out of it, where they breed and where they rest, and we show you both.
You fix what only you can fix
Some of the problem is water we cannot treat away: a clogged gutter, a kiddie pool left out, a tarp over the firewood, a birdbath that never gets dumped. We point each one out. Clearing them costs nothing and makes every treatment work better.
Scheduled treatments where they rest
A certified technician treats the resting areas on a set schedule through the season: shrubs, hedges, tree lines, shaded foliage, under decks and porches. We aren’t fogging the open lawn. We are treating the places mosquitoes wait out the daylight.
Adjust as the season goes
A wet June is not a dry August. We pay attention to what you’re seeing and what the weather is doing, and shift timing or coverage when the yard calls for it. If something isn’t working, you tell us and we come look.

Honest expectations
Reduction, not zero
- You will still see a mosquito now and then. The goal is a yard you can use, not a yard with no insects in it. Anyone promising zero can’t check it.
- Weather matters. A week of heavy rain creates new breeding sites and shortens how long a treatment holds. We plan for it; we can’t cancel it.
- Your neighbors’ yards count. Mosquitoes don’t respect a fence. If the lot next door has a tarp full of water, you’ll get visitors. Treating the resting sites on your side still cuts the numbers a lot.
- Events need lead time. If a graduation party or cookout is coming, tell us the date. A treatment a day or two ahead does more than one squeezed in that morning.

Part of a plan, or just for the season
Mosquito service fits naturally alongside recurring pest control. If we already come to your home for ants, spiders, roaches or mice, adding the yard to those visits is the simplest way to handle it. Plenty of customers also run it as a standalone seasonal service, spring to early fall, and stop when the weather turns. Either way works. Mosquito questions, answered plainly
When should mosquito service start in Evansville?
Once nights stay warm, which around here usually means late April or May. Starting before the first big hatch keeps the population from building. If it is July and the yard is already full of them, it is not too late; the first treatment makes a noticeable difference and the schedule takes over from there.
How long does each treatment last?
Long enough to carry you to the next scheduled visit in normal conditions. Heavy rain shortens that window, which is why we schedule for the season rather than treating once and hoping.
Is the treatment safe for kids, pets and the vegetable garden?
Our technicians are certified through the Office of the Indiana State Chemist and apply products by the label, which sets where they go and how long to stay off treated foliage. We target resting areas like shrubs and tree lines, not the lawn your kids play on or the beds you eat from, and we go over any spots you want avoided at the walkthrough.
Will one treatment before a party do anything?
Yes, if it is timed right. Treating the resting areas a day or two before an outdoor event knocks the numbers down for the evening. It will not hold the way a seasonal schedule does, and it cannot fix breeding water still sitting in the yard, so clear that first.
